Also, forthcoming during this year, will be a requirement for industry to report serious adverse events relating to human dietary supplements to the FDA.The rule includes requirements for establishing quality control procedures, designing and constructing manufacturing plants and testing ingredients and the finished products. It also includes requirements for testing and handling customer complaints. Under the rule, manufacturers will be required to evaluate the identity, purity, strength and composition of their dietary supplements.
