We're not the sickos, the people who had pets sickened by NB were treated to NB's sicko style of operating - hundreds of petowners could have been spared the ensuing horrors and expense, had NB not lied to protected themselves legally. They were caught lying about prior knowledge, about their testing, about their ingredients, about a whole lot more... but mostly a 100 million dollar company does NOT get to offer up a child's excuse for their abject lack of due diligence and duty of care. I hope this lesson has been made loud and clear, that the companies will NOT disrespect, disregard, or disallow any of their consumers' right to 100% complete transparency.

It's time disreputable Agra/Food industry CEO's learned the lessons learned in other sectors of the economy: we certainly saw the come-uppance of dirty rotten sickos in the energy, telecommunication, financial and transportation sectors and now they're being exposed in your industry. Too little too late, but they will all go down.

Anna - you couldn't be more right. But let me take this one step further. If we as consumers would just hold these irresponsible manufacturers of any ingestible for our pets to the same standards as we do for products for our kids - do you think all these pets would be getting sick and dying? We are equally to blame for this situation becoming so corrupted. I shudder to think what has been going into our puppies mouths all these years - and not just food. Have you seen all the pet supplements that have been proven useless? Yeah, they are failing label tests - submitting fraudulent label claims. They must really take us for being idiots. And maybe we have been. But no more...I am holding everybody accountable for what goes in my dog's mouth. Supplements and food. Snacks and treats. Retailers beware. You better know your stuff.

Hate to say but now a day we just don't know whether it is safe to buy any processed foods for our pets (or even ourselves!). I believe instead of waiting for any press release (which would be a bit late sometimes!), we should educate ourselves on how to read labels on pet foods so we know whether the ingredients in the pet food are good for our pets or not.
